Pema Youdon

First of all I would like to pay my warm and heartiest Tashi Delek to my sponsor and all those associated with Tibet Charity. I am very much grateful to my dear sponsor and Tibet Charity. The scholarship program of Tibet Charity gave me a new hope and direction to my life in this beautiful world. If not for Tibet Charity, I would have faced great hardship in life. My life would have been ruined. I would never have thought of enjoying the kind of opportunity I now have. My future would have been very bleak. Today I feel very fortunate and I feel that I will have brighter future. It’s all thanks to my sponsor and the initiative taken by Tibet Charity. I once again thank my sponsor and Tibet Charity.
In the future, I will try my best to help our Tibetan community.

In the future, I will try my best to help our Tibetan community. Right now I am working at Kolkata Apollo Hospital. I joined this Hospital as a nurse on 7th December 2011. My main reason for joining this hospital is to get better experience and knowledge. Initially I applied for job at two different hospitals – Apollo Hospital and Colombia Asia Hospital. Thankfully I got selected by both the hospitals. As I have heard that Apollo Hospital is a better option, I joined Apollo. I once gain thank Tibet Charity scholarship program for brining hope to many students like me. As I am from a poor family background, I would have never dreamt of a career I am now in. I request Tibet Charity to continue this wonderful program and bring sunshine to lives of many students like me.

My name is Rinzin Dolma and I live in Tibetan Settlement Bir.

After I finished my class XII exam, I was very much worried about my future as I wasn’t aware whether I would be able to do a course of my choice.

My parents, with all their difficulties, would never have succeeded in sending me to a nursing course as they would not have the money to send me to do

further studies. Like others, I applied for scholarship to Department of Education but with no success.

Finally I applied to Tibet Charity who immediately agreed to pay for my nursing course with the help of my kind sponsor. My sponsor not only paid my fees but also visited my home in Bir. She also provided some financial assistance to my family which had a sick bedridden father and physically handicapped brother. My mother was weaving carpet to earn a bit for my family. The responsibility was therefore huge on my shoulder to look after their well being after I completed my course.

Thanks to my sponsor and Tibet Charity, I have now my completed my nursing course and I have got a job in Medanta the medicity Hospital in Haryana close to Delhi. I have now become an earning member in

the family and hopefully I can make my family self – sustainable.

I once again thank them for making my life worthwhile.

Note: Rinzin Dolma is among the first recipients of TC Scholarship.

Tenzin Choeyang: A spa therapist

Tenzin Choeyang has applied for TC Scholarship in the year 2007.

She has done reasonably well in her final school exam which would have made her a sure candidate for some further studies. But her financial situation was such that she found no option but to take up a course that would enable her to start a job at the earliest possible time. Both her parents have expired and she was being looked after by her aunt who was engaged in some petty roadside business.

But thanks to her sponsor and thanks to TC Sweden, she was able to take up a beautician course at Vocational Training Centre at Selakui, Dehradun.

After finishing the course there she did further training in Bangalore after which she is now employed as a spa therapist at Ista in Amritsar (India).

In her letter to us she wrote, “My

training was finished on July 2010. Now I am working in the same company (hotel industry) were I did my spa therapist training. Our company has many branches in different places. Ananda in the Himalayas which is in Rishikesh, leading destination spa in the world, well recognized for its unmatched service values and philosophy. IHHR’s business and leisure 5 star hotel branch Ista, now includes hotels in Bangalore,

Hyderabad, and Amritsar. Ista hotels in Pune and Ahmedabad opened in 2010. I am working in Ista Amritsar. Today where I am standing is just because of your kind help towards me. ”

I wholeheartedly thank her sponsor in particular and TC Sweden in general for their kind assistance towards the girl. Without their support it would never have been possible for this girl to achieve what she has achieved now. It is now thanks to them that she is now able to get a job and make a decent living out of it.

I have always been saying that by helping these students with scholarships, we are giving them with the tools to fish rather than simply giving them a fish.

We wish her all the luck in her life.
